Ethiopia Gesha Village 126

This Gesha 1931 from Gesha Village in Ethiopia is beautifully floral, juicy, and sweet; a very classic washed Gesha Village coffee. The Gesha 1931 variety is named after the year that British expeditionists traveled the Gori Gesha forest and collected coffee seeds, which eventually made their way to Panama and became the Geisha variety well known and widely sought after today. In addition to being near the origin of the Gesha variety, Gesha Village Estate produces some of the most flavorful and dynamic coffees available. In our experience, they tend to be some of the more dramatic yet delicate and intricate coffees available from Ethiopia. The naturals are never exaggerated or fermenty, and the washed coffees are never dry.

This coffee was roasted very lightly by Substance Café in Paris, and rested appropriately about 8 weeks before freezing. This coffee continues to open up as it ages, which is why we’ve intentionally aged them to near-peak before freezing. Coffees are thawed to order.
